Eddie burst onto the music scene in 1992 as one half of the Soul-Duo, CHARLES AND EDDIE. The EMI/CAPITOL recording group that sold 2 million CD'S, 2 million singles and gave us the # 1 in 16 countries classic hit, WOULD I LIE TO YOU that still plays daily on the radio everywhere in the world.
Since then he has written, produced or performed 10 top twenty hits in various territories around the globe. Notably, SAVE OUR LOVE (co-written by Scott Cutler and Anne Preven who also wrote TORN by Natalie Imbruglia), a top ten single from ETERNAL'S, Always and Forever release. The biggest selling CD by a female group in the UK (2.5 million copies). GOOD TIMES for S CLUB 7's million selling release Sunshine. He once had a #1 hit (SHINE) that sat upon the French pop charts for 14 weeks straight. Most recently in 2005 Eddie was the featured singer on a remake of his own classic WOULD I LIE TO YOU by MUSIKK on Warner Brothers Records in Denmark. It was the sixth number one single from that CD to be released.
Eddie has been awarded more then twenty gold and platinum records in his illustrious career. There's been successful collaborations with (the former owner of EMI MEDLEY records in Denmark) Poul Bruun that gave us the classic radio hit, ALL IT TAKES from HANNE BOEL'S platinum release, MISTY PARADISE. END OF THE LINE from Hanne Boel's gold release, Beware of the Dog that debuted at # 1 in 2002 co-written with Jonathon Shorten (Joss Stone, Gabrielle). Eddie also wrote the two lead off singles WHILE YOU WERE OUT and WONDERLAND for Hanne Boel's most recent CD, ABACO released in 2004.
In 2003 Eddie produced along with POUL BRUUN the SONY release by ERANN DD, Thats The Way For Me, which debuted at # 1 on the Danish pop charts in November of 2003. The first single from that same release, DIDN'T I TELL YOU (produced and co-written by Eddie) made Erann DD the first Danish artist in 5 years to debut at # 1 on the pop charts.
Eddie is quoted as saying, "I like to capture the best that an artist has to offer wrapped beautifully in a perfect song. Thats what makes me happy". I think it's safe to say that is the formula that has made the eight million people that have bought CD'S containing Eddie Chacon's music happy.
